Is the WMV to MP4 conversion free?

Will I lose quality?
WMV must be re-encoded (its codec isn't MP4-compatible), but we use quality settings where the difference is not visible in normal viewing. The output will never look worse than the source.
Why won't my WMV play on my phone or Mac?
WMV uses Microsoft's Windows Media codecs, which most non-Windows devices never supported. Converting to MP4 (H.264) solves it permanently.
Is there a size or length limit?
Without an account, conversions accept up to 500 MB and 5 minutes per video (1080p max). Pro raises this to 2 GB and 2 hours, and Studio goes further.
Does the sound stay in sync?
Yes. The audio track is converted along with the video in the same pass, so synchronization is preserved.
Can I convert MP4 back to WMV?
No — we deliberately target modern formats (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI). There is no good reason to produce new WMV files today.
Is my file kept on your servers?
No. Files are deleted automatically after processing — 48 h for anonymous uploads, 7 days with a free account.
