What it does
The tool detects the subject on every frame, without a green screen, and removes what is behind it. You can replace the background with a colour, a blur, a green background, your own image or video, or export it transparent (a ProRes .mov file for video, a PNG for a photo) for your editing software. Photos work too.
How to use it
- Open Background removal and upload a video or a photo.
- Choose the new background, or transparent.
- Launch, then download.

- Without an account you can use this tool, see the result and download it. When you download, a free account is offered to keep the file longer; you can continue without an account.
- The exact price in credits is always shown on the screen before you launch.
- Without Pro or Studio, this tool can be used at most 20 times in 24 hours.
- With Pro, this tool can be used up to 200 times a month. Studio has no per-tool limit.
- Without Pro or Studio, the result carries the Klipa logo. A Pass removes it for one video.

Common problems
Hair edges shimmer. Results are best on a sharp, well-lit subject clearly separated from the background. Very fine hair or a background close in colour to the subject stays harder.
The transparent video looks black in my player. Transparency is read by editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro), not by most players.
My video is refused. Background removal accepts short videos: check the table above.
